Estudo da viabilidade de soluções em concreto para recuperação do pavimento asfáltico de um trecho da rodovia BR-467 entre Cascavel e Toledo

Abstract

In general, Brazilian highways require high durability and low maintenance cost pavements since road transportation is still the main and most used type of transport in Brazil and contributes to the country’s economic development. However, studies point out that Brazilian road network has still a lot of issues. The additional lane of the segment of the highway BR-467 between km 80.0 and km 84.0 from the city of Toledo towards the city of Cascavel was chosen to be subject of this paper due to the fact that this stretch of pavement is constantly repaired but defects and failures keep showing up in a relatively short period of time. In order to propose a pavement rehabilitation technique using concrete of Portland cement that is applicable to the current situation of the existing asphalt pavement, it was necessary to recognize and monitor the existing defects of the pavement, measure traffic flow and classify vehicle types. Also, it was necessary a literature review about pavement restoration techniques and case studies of Brazilian highways that were successfully repaired with concrete technologies.
