Abstract
This work presents a theoretical and a experimental study of the selfexcited asynchronous microgenerator operating isolated from the electrical network, together with a static var compensator (SVC) for voltage control. A theoretical study of the induction generator and reactive power compensation was made, however focusing on the chosen compensator. In the practical development, it was set up a bench with two induction coupled motors, one simulating the turbine, controlled by a frequency inverter, and the other simulating the generator. Several loads were inserted and removed from the system and the voltage control was done through the firing angle of the semiconductor present in the compensator . Tests were performed aiming to characterize the static and dynamic behavior of the microgenerator. Some of these tests were: Verification of the capacitors for auto-excitation of the machine, variation of the behavior of the generated voltage in function of the inserted loads, and insertion of the compensator to correct the generated voltage. Finally, the conclusions were expressed for the different stages of the work development.
