Estudo sobre a adoção da tecnologia RFID na indústria automotiva

Abstract

This paper presents the advantages and disadvantages of using Radio-frequency identification (RFID) on logistics, assembly line and production management on the automotive Industry. Although the RFID technology has many advantages over its predecessor, the barcode, it is considered an expensive alternative. The advantages of RFID, such as reduction of handling levels and better management of supply goods can justify the high investment. Besides, the adoption of RFID technology can provide better a high level of monitoring, providing more efficiency to the production control and traceability.
