Abstract

For the control and storage of materials, radiofrequency identification, the subject addressed in this monograph, is a management system that provides modernization, security and agility to the processes. This study aims to present a study on the management of the information of a warehouse through the implantation of the system of identification by radiofrequency, in a metal mechanic company. For this, as methodological procedures, the bibliographic research method was initially used to analyze subjects related to the topic. Then, through the observation technique, the current process regarding the control of entry and exit of materials from the warehouse was analyzed, with the purpose of proposing an improvement suggestion for the feasibility of implantation of a radiofrequency system for the management of the information in that one warehouse. As results, it was verified that the work in the warehouse is carried out by people manually, where the inventory control becomes fragile, generating inconsistent information, damaging the product manufacturing process, according to some negative points observed in the current control of Input and output. Thus, it was presented as a suggestion of improvement for the company, the analysis of the feasibility of implantation of an RFID system in the warehouse, since this system offers numerous advantages and benefits, when implemented correctly, as, for example: time gains and improved efficiency, by assisting in the planning of inventory management, with the possibility of greater control; Reduction of inventory losses, inventory levels and costs; Inventory maintenance; maximization of productivity; information sharing, fewer forecasting errors; mobile database, speed and precision in the data transmission, generating an improvement in the processes of management and control of inventories, consequently increasing profitability and productivity, making the company more competitive. From the above, it can be concluded that the RFID implementation in the warehouse can also minimize data discrepancies, increasing productivity, contributing significantly to the company by incorporating a high performance system in the warehouse management. However, it is up to the company to analyze the feasibility of this improvement suggestion, afterwards verifying its functionality, cost and benefit.
