Resumen
This research addresses the use of music in the literacy process that starts in kindergarten and the early grades of elementary school. The same proceeded from literature review and field research, with direct observation inside and outside of the classroom, as well as interviews with literacy teachers. It is known that the educator aware of their role to teach their students to present a diversity of situations and possibilities, using a variety of strategies that can promote learning. One such strategy is the use of music in the literacy process, important moment in the life of ourchildren. It was then that teach music literacy makes the environment more relaxed, pleasant, light and engaging. The music, in its various forms to be executed, heard, sung and interpreted, can help concentration. In Early Childhood Education is the common use of joyous melodies, short, with repeats that favor the memorization andplayfulness, such as the rhymes. In the early grades of elementary school than thosewho were cited for younger children, there is also the possibility of using songs that bring to the classroom not only literacy, but to give space to dialogue, the conversation wheel, exchange of experiences, issues of science, geography, environment, updates, etc.. As a result of working with musicalization classroom creates a process of knowledge construction, favoring the development of sensitivity, creativity, sense of rhythm, nice to hear and sing songs, socialization, movement and body language.
