Resumen
The use of pig waste to generate electricity, thermal energy and bio-fertilizer is a promising way of managing this waste, helping to reduce the contamination of water bodies and ecosystem preservation. The digestion is a technology for conversion of biomass present in the waste in a gaseous biofuel medium calorific value. The gas can be used in Otto cycle engine to generate electricity, the generating property of the residue. This study evaluated the ability of biogas with waste from pig farms in the municipality of Missal, estimating the production of electricity and the area required to implement the biofertilizer produced. To conduct the study was done a literature on swine waste, its features, and the anaerobic digestion process, it was possible to estimate the production of waste generated by each pig, biogas production and electricity generation. A characterization of the municipality of Missal and a survey of manufacturing capacity in pigs, and determined that it would be possible to produce 20 % of electricity consumed in rural areas of the county and applying biofertilizer in 67 % of the area devoted to farming.
