Resumen
The current paper aims to get a robust way to electric dimensioning of automotive alternator. Electric automotive embedded demand continues to increase, so it is important to predict project costs in early stages and ensure supply to electric loads and recharging batteries. The research has resulted in three methods of alternator calculation, in which all take into account electrical loads divided by the time in which they're linked. With this information were created three spreadsheets in a same template, where inputs are the power or current of each consumer unit and outputs are alternator nominal currents and alternator idle speed. The results obtained showed large variation between the three methodologies. For minimum current to feed all charges had a variation of 68.97% and current in idle speed of 81.01%. For the same application, by one of the methods would be necessary to have two alternators, while for the other two, only one. The results have made it possible to find a method that approached more from reality and guaranteed conditions of electric supply and recharging of batteries. However, some points could have been listed for improvements in future papers.
