Resumen
Electrical grounding systems are essential components to ensure the safety of the mediums that envelop eletricity, as well as the living beings that surround the energized area. For the transmission line, we look for the use of grounding methods that combine the cost-benefit to safety and reliability. Therefore, searching for reliability and economy, horizontal electrodes, also known as counterweight cables, are usually used for the composition of these grounding systems. The following paper presents a relation between values of the grounding resistances and procedures used to measure the mesh of the structures of a 138kV Transmission Line located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. A case study is carried out aiming at the adequacy of the equipment and procedures used to measure the mesh, before current regulations.
