Resumen
The goal of this work is to design ball screws and step motors for a CNC milling machine for dental prothesis. In that sense, the milling machine must be able to work with all of the materials available, including chromium-cobalt and titanium alloys. Thus, after the calculation of the machining forces and all of the boundary conditions required, it was selected the FST R10-4B1 Hiwin ball screws, which have 10 mm in diameter and 4 mm in screw lead. After that, it was calculated the required torque for the application, where it was proposed a downsizing for the X, Y and Z motors for the
Neoyama motor AK23/4.6F6FL1.8, which offer a more fitting torque. For the A and B axis motors, it was verified that the maximum load is way above the torque supplied by the motors and, for that, more research will be done.
