Resumen
The present research aims to verify what level of burnout are the teachers, both the public network and the private network, the High School of Basic Education in Curitiba-PR. The research presents descriptive nature, with a quantitative approach. It is characterized by the selection of random samples from a small population, was made by ex-post-facto in order to understand behavior through the analysis of a questionnaire. We used the questionnaire Maslach Burnout Inventory - Educators Survey-Es, which presents 22 issues developed on the basis of the three dimensions of the syndrome of Bournout: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment. The instrument was made available, the 19 teachers participating in the research, via the internet. The results identified a considerable level of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization of most teachers. As the professional achievement, great part of teachers has level of moderate to low. It was concluded that there is a high level of burnout in two participants and, in 14, it can be noted the existence of symptoms of the syndrome of Bournout, which requires the attention of the managers of educational institutions as well as to preventive actions and treatment of the syndrome.
