Resumen
The disorderly growth in urban centers causes irreversible damage to the environment, directly affecting human health and has been the motivation for the development of studies on air quality. Francisco Beltrão is located in the southwest of Paraná, and has its economy focused on agro-industrial activities and services. This work aims to determine the influence of meteorological conditions on the concentration of particulate matter (PM10) collected in the city. Campaigns were conducted using a Large Volume Sampler (AGV MP10), which occurred in the period from August 2019 to July 2021. Of the 119 samples, all were within the standards set by CONAMA No. 491/18, which is 120 μg/m3, however, 14 samples were above the standards indicated by the WHO, which is 45 μg/m3. The sample that presented the highest concentration value was on 10/09/2019 with a value of 90.4 μg/m3, and that presented the lowest value was on 06/10/20 with 3.2 μg/m3. August and September 2019 and 2020, showed the highest MP10 concentration values, because the period encompasses the fall and winter seasons, which have lower precipitation. The influence of the Coronavirus pandemic on the pollutant concentration values was not identified, as there was no significant variation in the values collected. It was found that Francisco Beltrão has particulate matter concentration values appropriate to the parameters indicated by CONAMA 491/2018, which is 120 μg/m3, but it does not exempt the continuity of monitoring of MP10 and future studies on air pollution in the city.
