Resumen
The Physical Education professional who works in the gym, both in the area of bodybuilding and in the gymnastics area, most of the time needs to work in more than one place and face high work hours because of the low remuneration, this can negatively affect the quality of life of these professionals. Therefore, the objective of this study was, to verify if the physical education professionals have the same quality of life that they teach their students, making a comparison between professionals who work in the modalities of Bodybuilding and Gymnastics. The study was of comparative quantitative and descriptive correlational characteristics. The sample had 24 individuals of both sexes, who have been working in the area for at least one year, who received an e-mail link that gave access to an online questionnaire, these electronic addresses were obtained through personal contact of the researcher with the participants, selected for convenience and willingness. The data collection instrument was adapted from the Pentacle of Well-Being (Nahas, 2000), which is a self-administered questionnaire, where the respondent answered twenty items on a scale ranging from zero to three points. The data obtained show a predominance of positive habits in most of the questions, but still, with some behaviors that may present health risks in the components: nutrition, physical activity, relationships and working conditions. When comparing the groups, the gymnastic teachers presented higher risk behavior in the questions: “c” (component: nutrition), “n” (component: stress control), “p”, “r” and “t” (component: work conditions). Bodybuilding teachers presented higher risk behavior only in question “f” (component: physical activity).
