Resumen
Biotechnology is seated in our daily lives, through innovations in the areas of genetics, immunology and the production of drugs aimed at health and social well-being. In the school context, biotechnology also relates to ethical, political, economic, social and social issues related to drug approval. This study aimed to build an association of scientists, technology, society and environment by students in the teaching of biotechnology in a professional course in Environment. It is a qualitative research of the type pedagogical intervention (Lüdke and Andre, 2012), a research journal in biotechnology with its scientific, technological, social and environmental relations. The selection of the participants occurred from the definition of the two classes of the third year of high school of the cited institution. Since the training date was a series of class sessions, communication activities, seminars, and group discussions, which were made in 2017, did not have a second semester. research, use of field notes, audio and voice recorder in order to capture the students' discursive interactions during an accomplishment of the didactic sequence. For the analysis of the data, the stages involved mainly: transcription of the recorded audios, which allowed the construction of seven distinct categories, a priori and emerging (Moraes and Galiazzi, 2011), among them: 1) problematization related to the use and discard of medicines in the environment; 2) perspectives of solution to the problems pointed out; 3) perspectives to promote the social construction of ethical principles, social justice and decision making; 4) ethics for the need for greater public knowledge on biotechnology and pharmacology; 5) the interdisciplinary construction of knowledge about biotechnology and pharmacology; 6) public network programs, gratuitous costs associated with curing and preventing diseases, and finally, 7) alternatives for the use of natural medicines. From the analysis, it can be concluded that the didactic sequence on biotechnology related to Science, Technology, Society and Environment made it possible for students to construct opinions based on scientific arguments, endowed with a critical sense of justice and ethics. It was also possible to perceive principles of awareness and active responsibility, as the subjects started to propose solutions about the inappropriate disposal of medicines in the environment. There was also concern about the social risks of self medication, dependence and drug toxicity. Therefore, it is understood that when discussing issues that relate Science, Technology, Society and Environment with students, it is allowed that the learning connect its reality to the knowledge discussed in classes in the areas of natural sciences, humanities and others of a kind technician. After completing the data analysis process, an educational product was developed, consisting of a series of classes on biotechnology and pharmacology with a scientific, technological, social and environmental focus, focusing on the exchange of ideas and the critical formation of students and teachers.
