Resumen
Passive and semi-active suspension systems have been widely used in vehicles and industrial equipments, but hydraulic mass-spring-damper systems have shown few changes in their concept. Active damper, although being known for a while, they are not applied due to high complexity and cost, although they allow better performance. In this document was developed an active electromagnetic damper for automotive use and its control system through simulations as proof of concept of its behavior. This document shows all the studies involved in this project, such as mechanical parts of the damper, the simulations of the electromagnetic circuit by means of software FEMM, Finite Elements Methods Magnetics, which uses the finite elements method, the topology of the mechanical part, which is designed based in past studies, the actuator system to power the damper coils, buck converter, the simulation of the designed damper with two control systems, PID, Proportional-Integral-Derivative, and fuzzy controller, and the results obtained in relation to the criteria of comfort energy efficiency.
