It is known that although the financial mathematics included in the school curriculum, Brazil, an important part of the concepts are not treated or are treated superficially, as it is given greater emphasis in the "general mathematics". Considering the importance that the issue raises, this article aims to bring to light the importance of financial education in high schools. Therefore, the development of the study took place from literature sources extracted from scientific articles. The theoretical framework served to support the real importance that mathematics is today as it prepares students for economic life, assisting you in making decisions that involve numbers calculations. The financial education as a school subject is essential as learning to manage personal budget is a challenge that many adults can not look with ease, since the medium did not support this discipline.
