Resumen
Automation is historically a synonym of development, affecting drastically in the last years on the existing manufacture process, enabling production lines to become more consistent, accurate, reliable and robust, performing tasks faster and cheaper. The increasing presence of automatized machines and equipment in manufacture, imply in the necessity of regulations on the safety of workers. Beyond moral issues, there are economical and legal reasons to avoid accidents. There are national technical references for the establishment of basic principles and minimum measures to guarantee the health and physical integrity of the workers, however, in definitions of effectiveness, resistance and reliability of safety systems, they consider as principle international standards that are no longer in use. In this work, the performance level of access system of a robotic manufacturing cell for automated placement of windshields will be analyzed and measured, according to concepts and methods presented in the standard ISO 13849-1 (2006). The standard is considered, as more robust solution, for taking into consideration aspects as probabilities of occurrence of failures of the components used in the system, in addition to the electrical connection architecture used.
