The following research aims to establish the inherent philosophical foundations of qualitative research, taking an argumentative and reflexive approach about the different concepts based on the scientific perspective and the emerging postulates.  So that, the type of research is documentary, through the writing of an argumentative essay, which is focused on a comprehensive review of the theories and approaches found from various literature sources. Also, the methodology to be assumed at the time of speech development based on the phenomenological model. So, three criteria are established in order to organize the discourse: dialogical scenario, true concept and language. It is important to say that the interpretation of the information obtained will allow show the importance of epistemological and ontological conception in the understanding of qualitative research and application of new knowledge to improve the research process.La siguiente investigación tiene como finalidad dar a conocer los fundamentos filosóficos inherentes a la investigación cualitativa, asumiendo para ello una postura crítico-reflexiva sobre las diversas posturas asumidas desde los postulados científicos hasta las concepciones emergentes. De tal manera que el tipo de investigación es documental, a través de un ensayo argumentativo, centrado en una revisión exhaustiva y crítica de las teorías y enfoques asumidos desde diversas fuentes bibliográficas. Asimismo, la metodología que se asumirá al momento del desarrollo del hilo discursivo se enfoca en el modelo fenomenológico. Por ello, para el abordaje del discurso,  se tomarán tres criterios: escenario dialógico, concepto de verdad y el lenguaje.  Cabe destacar que la interpretación de la información obtenida permitirá mostrar la importancia de la concepción epistemológica y ontológica en la comprensión de la investigación cualitativa y la aplicación de nuevos conocimientos que permitan mejorar los procesos de investigación.
