dc.description.abstractThe article analyzes the economic management of the College of Natural from Chillán by the Jesuits and Franciscans towards the end of the colony. First it presents the valuation that historiography has made of this school. Then it studies the economical dynamics of the college under the tutelage of the Jesuits and Franciscans. Finally, the article highlights the participation of religious orders in the policy to westernize the Indians.
