In this paper, we propose a comprehensive methodology to specify prior distributions for commonly used models in reliability. The methodology is based on characteristics easy to communicate by the user in terms of time to failure. This information could be in the form of intervals for the mean and standard deviation, or quantiles for the failure-time distribution. The derivation of the prior distribution is done for two families of proper initial distributions, namely s-normal-gamma, and uniform distribution. We show the implementation of the proposed method to the parameters of the s-normal, lognormal, extreme value, Weibull, and exponential models. Then we show the application of the procedure to two examples appearing in the reliability literature, [26] and [28]. By estimating the prior predictive density, we find that the proposed method renders consistent distributions for the different models that fulfill the required characteristics for the time to failure. This feature is particularly important in the application of the Bayesian approach to different inference problems in reliability, model selection being an important example. The method is general, and hence it may be extended to other models not mentioned in this paper. dc.description.abstractEspinet, M.",,"2013",,"The paper presents a theoretical and methodological approach to the analysis of primary science teacher education discourse developed within a CLIL context (Content and Language Integrated Learning). From an integrated perspective using both a sociocultural and a conversational analysis approaches the study undertakes the analysis of discourse produced within small group interactions during a multilingual laboratory work activity dealing with the living being model in which student teachers used three languages: Catalan, Spanish and English. The analysis strategies include the iden-tification of discursive actions and processes within each of the three fields that characterize students' communicative actions: the field of science, the field of English, and the field of science education. Finally the questions that orient the analysis within and across fields are presented whose general aim is constituted by the main question: How can learning in CLIL science teacher education contexts occur?",,,,,,,,,"http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12104/39129","http://www.scopus.com/inward/record.url?eid=2-s2.0-84906717702&partnerID=40&md5=3e860d9ebef32280fbf1570d2e4af483",,,,,,"3",,"Ensenanza de las Ciencias",,"27

Representatives of the single clonal type found were analysed by spa typing, multilocus sequence typing and staphylococcal chromosomal cassette mec (SCCmec) typing, and were tested for the presence of 22 virulence determinants and agr type. A single PFGE pattern was identified, with minor variations over time, with spa type 2, sequence type 5, SCCmec type II, agr type 2 and the presence of the enterotoxin genes seg and sei, the ?-haemolysin variant gene hlg-v and the leukocidin lukE-lukD genes. In addition, the isolates showed antimicrobial resistance to ?-lactams, macrolides, chloramphenicol and imipenem, and susceptibility to gentamicin, rifampicin, trimethoprim-sulphamethoxazole and vancomycin. Following its appearance in 1997, this clone spread within the hospital, and is now present in most of the hospital units and wards.
