Objective: Determine comorbidities in adult patients diagnosed with Systemic Lupus erythematosus in Regional Hospital of Trujillo – Peru, during the period January 2008 - December 2013. Material and methods: This is a descriptive study that included 70 patients diagnosed with SLE attended in the Rheumatology Service of Regional Hospital of Trujillo. Sociodemographic parameters and frequency of comorbidities were determined, as well. Results and conclusions: it was found that 51 patients (72.9%) had comorbidities; likewise, 32 patients (45.7%) had more than one comorbidity. The main comorbidity was infections (55.7%), followed by secondary damage to steroids and hypertension, with 24.3% and 17.1% respectively. The most common infection found was the urogenital infections (35.7%). Feminine sex was predominant in both the diagnosis of SLE and comorbidities, with 68.6% of the last one. Patients who presented comorbidities according to age 18 - 34 and > 34 groups were 78.4% and 21.6% respectively. About the origin of the patients presented comorbidities, 64.3% came from La Libertad, followed by Ancash and Lambayeque with 4.3% and 2.9% respectively.
