The road infrastructure of the cities is a fundamental factor for the economic development of the countries, the speed reducers can be reduced with the speed of the cars that avoid the traffic accidents. In Ecuador there are several types of speed reducers, a simple view can be noted that the deficiencies have in their structure as the existing signaling status. It seeks to reduce the negative impacts that exist in the City of Huaquillas, which is why it is necessary to avoid vehicular congestion and improve the quality of traffic. Here there are traffic accidents caused by the wrong speed reducer located in the center of the road intersection, on av. The Republic and street Pasaje. For which it is proposed to perform a technical analysis of the speed reducer type highlight, through field inspections, considering the standards INEN and MTOP, in order to find a solution to avoid traffic accidents at this intersection. In addition, bibliography will be reviewed, in texts, scientific journals and digital repositories referring to the problem that is generated. Field visits will be carried out to obtain information necessary for the analysis of the selected speed reducer to later use the Minitabs information software to process the information obtained by performing speed gauges in hours of high and low traffic from where the descriptive states were obtained and histogram of speeds of the sector. As previously mentioned the most usual methods for the verification of the behavior of the road, are the vehicular gauges, which consists in carrying out the counting of the vehicles, for which several technical visits were made. The evaluation of the vertical signaling index was also carried out, using the analytical method of the IESV, in the area where the reducer is located. The analysis of this project leads us to take the most effective measures that can be applied to the speed reducer type that is located in Av. La República and Pasaje Street, for which our study proposes the elimination of the current speed reducer for reduce traffic accidents. Finally, a solution will be proposed that adapts to the problem that is generated due to the bad location and current state in which this speed reducer is located, so the most optimal solution will be the installation of speed reducers type studs, with this we safeguard the integrity of the citizenship and also the reduction of traffic congestion will occur, obtaining greater security for the driver and passers-by. With this research, the importance of implementing this type of device in this sector was directly determined, which will benefit the inhabitants of the sector and other users who circulate in this way, generating comfort and safety for drivers and pedestrians. It must be borne in mind that when implementing a new reducer, the Ecuadorian technical regulation and the MTOP regulations must be considered with a prior traffic study.
