Abstract
Old age is a period full of changes that produces uncertainty, sometimes sadness, sometimes it can come with deterioration of functioning, and as the years progress, more alterations in the quality of life of the individual are added. The elderly are vulnerable to various diseases and alterations in their mental health. It is common that, in people from 60 years of age, chronic diseases develop, such as Parkinson's disease, characterized by tremor, stiffness and postural instability. The diagnosis of this pathology can interfere with the emotional stability of the patient, generating mood disorders that could range from sadness most of the day, to recurrent thoughts of death. As Parkinson's disease progresses, the associated symptoms intensify, improving the quality of life of the elderly. The psychological intervention that will be provided in this case must be adapted to the needs of the patient, in order to succeed. For this reason, the present work has as a general objective, to identify the depressive disorder due to Parkinson's disease, through literature review and case analysis to propose an adequate psychological treatment.
