Abstract
The purpose of this present work is to detail the process of evaluation and diagnosis of a case of high intellectual capacity in a child of 7 years, where high intellectual capacities are considered a higher learning breadth and a way of learning more easily than the rest of the children of contemporary ages. According to various studies, children with high capacities, are out of date compared to children their age, i.e. who develop problems and some difficulties in the social sphere, in communication, feelings of inferiority, are not they feel understood, they don't identify with each other, and difficulty in relationships with groups. In Ecuador the prevalence ranges from 1.5% of the population, which is the global index, which is between 1.5% and 2%. For evaluation and diagnosis, a process is carried out that involves a number of aspects, such as the application of psychometric tests, measuring IQ. Wisc V, as well as instruments such as Scales for assessing the behavioral characteristics of Renzulli seniors SCRBSS, Questionnaire on Needs, Characteristics and Opinions of families of high-income children skills and interviews applied to parents and teachers who live daily with the child with high abilities. It is concluded that the child's intellectual capacity is higher than average and an academic process acceleration program for teachers in charge of the child needs to be implemented.
