Resumen
Introduction: Hypertension in pregnancy is the leading cause of obstetric morbidity and the second cause of maternal mortality is a pathology whose complications can be prevented by making an opportune diagnosis. In 2015, a pilot plan was carried out for the use of the Score Mama as a diagnostic tool for obstetric complications in pregnant and puerperal women; for 2016 its use is mandatory at all levels of health care in Ecuador. Objective: To describe the breast score in the timely diagnosis of hypertension in pregnancy at the first level of care. Methods: This is a descriptive study based on the review of scientific articles in databases of Redalyc, Scielo, Elsevier, Google Scholar, limiting the search to articles of the last 5 years, in Spanish and English and current guides in the Ministry of Public Health. Results and Conclusions: Of the articles reviewed, it was determined that each state adopts measures or procedures aimed at detecting risk factors and warning signs in hypertension in pregnancy. In Ecuador, the Mama Score facilitates the diagnosis, classification and therapy to be followed in obstetric complications, with gestational hypertension being the pathology with the highest morbidity rates, the implementation of the diagnostic tool adopted by health agencies in the last two years has contributed to decrease maternal mortality rates presenting an opportunity for primary prevention.
