Resumen
Banana activity on the La Union site covers 90% of its current territory, where it exercises economic benefits for people in the sector, since 85% of the inhabitants work in the banana plantations. Because of the large percentage of banana plantations located in the study area, there is a need to perform aerial fumigation to control pests that affect the plantations, where agrochemicals of high toxicity are used. These toxic products generate negative effects on the health of workers and inhabitants. Agrochemicals in aerial fumigations are applied without respecting the time of reentry. The present research has a qualitative approach where information is collected through observation, as well as a bibliographic research modality that obtained data from secondary sources of study. The research design is descriptive detailing the social and environmental problems caused by aerial spraying. The research is based on objectives 3 and 12 of Sustainable Development and principles 1,8 and 9 of the Global Compact. We identified 5 agrochemicals of greater use in aerial fumigations in different haciendas and their effects that produce according to their degree of toxicity to human health and the environment, and through these problems are possible solutions for banana activity in the sector is managed in a responsible manner for society and the environment.
