Abstract

Tourism in older adults is a sector of great potential for tourism and represents great social and economic opportunities. The province of El Oro possesses the four worlds within its territory, which makes it an ideal destination for older adults, however the tourist activity in the third age, is not a very developed segment of tourism in the province. The purpose of this paper is to identify the appropriate tourist attractions for tourism with older adults in the province of El Oro. As a methodology, bibliographic research and descriptive research are considered, applying observational techniques and surveys. The results reveal that the province is a destination with suitable tourist attractions with adequate infrastructure for tourism in older adults, such as the Puyango Petrified Forest, the Arenillas Ecological Reserve, the Buenaventura Reserve and the Zaruma Historical Center, the same It has been possible to identify which activities such as hiking, flora and fauna observation and visit to museums, affect the improvement of health and quality of life of the elderly.
