Abstract

The main objective of this research is to determine the number of vehicles that cause traffic congestion during peak hours, in the Educational Unit Fiscomisional "Heroes of 41"; El Cambio parish, Machala canton, where a manual gauging of vehicles was used, which stops either to leave or pick up users mainly students in the exterior of the educational center. To this end, the capacity of vehicles was executed during peak hours, categorizing them into four groups that include cars, vans, vans, trucks; the capacity was for a period of five working days or from Monday to Friday, starting on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, until Tuesday, May 22, 2018, from 06h00-08h00 and 12h00 to 14h00. As an alternative solution to the problem, the construction of a siding is proposed, at the far right of the Pasaje - Machala road, at kilometer 11 ½; and demand compliance with vertical regulatory signage, to avoid the violation of current traffic laws in our country, and safeguard the lives of drivers and students, In addition, the directors of the school plan schedules of entry and exit of students, in a staggered way.
