Introduction: the growing rate of breast cancer and the increasing survival on patients with this disease on our environment, have a close relation with the natural process of the disease and the treatments that modify the quality of life and the sexual activities.
General Objetive: to identify the quality of life and sexual activities of breast cancer survivors women, “José Carrasco Arteaga”, Hospital, Cuenca 2012 – 2017.
Methods: retrospective, quantitative and descriptive study conducted in “José Carrasco Arteaga” Hospital, with a sample of 135 breast cancer survivors women.
The literature review was conducted of the clinical charts and two questionaries were applied , one of then with socio-demographic and clinical data elaborated by the authors, and a stratification survey of the socioeconomic level created by the National Institute of Statistics and Census, for quality of life, the survey of the EORTC QLQ-C30 with module BR-23 specific for breast cancer, adapted for Ecuador. Analysis was performed using Microsoft Excel 2016 y SPSS v 17.7, the data is presented in the tables.
Results: the affected dimensions in the quality of life in breast cancer survivors women are: body image in a 29 %, social role a 17,04 %,and social and emotional factors with a 7,78 %.
Conclusions: the quality of life and sexual activities in breast cancer survivors women showed lower rates in the dimensions of the physical appearance, cognitive ability,and sexual functioning.
