Resumen
Tensegrity is a very useful structural system for the design of lighter structures. In addition, it brings architectural value to engineering works and since its creation it was used in the design of very striking sculptures.
In the present work the design of a pedestrian bridge is made using a tensegrity system, taking into account the maximum allowed deflections and the capacities of the elements that are available.
To find an initial geometric configuration, physical and digital models of simple tensegrity modules were made and they were joined to create more complex models.
Then, a feasible integral prestress mode was determined for the proposed geometry, by means of the Double Singular Values Decomposition method. Once obtained this mode, which has the relative distribution of the pre-stress, the corresponding forces were established.
The results of the structural analysis show that the proposed configuration for the bridge is valid and a successful design can be reached using Tensegrity
