BACKGROUND: In Ecuador 6.5% of the adult population is greater, considering them vulnerable, but they have capabilities that can develop normally, including sexuality.
The model of the sexual act as practiced in youth, is not applicable as it is old age, which becomes more important the closeness and intimacy.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To identify the perception of sexuality of the elderly in nursing students at the University of Cuenca, 2016.
METHODOLOGY: The type of study was descriptive qualitative research with an analytical design, obtaining a response to questions and developing concepts, theories and realities. Plan for data collection depth interviews was used and a semi-structured interview was designed to collect the required information. To record information recorder was used and took into account gestures, emotions and concerns of the participants. Depth interviews (spoken and visual) were transcribed to text using a word processor such as Word, for further analysis through the Atlas you program. The intention was that the transcript is as close to reality expressed by the participant, he was not added or omitted essential characteristics.
USE OF RESULTS: The results of research helped us to identify nursing student biases against sexuality of the elderly and improve their professional training future making it a professional quality
