Background: miomatosis is the most common benign tumor in gynecology, occurring in 20-30% of women of childbearing age, frequent indication for hysterectomy is between 35 and 54 years and can lead to infertility, coexist with a pregnancy and cause complications in the same. They are tumors of smooth muscle fibers and connective tissue with variable clinical manifestations depending on the size, position and number, although most are asymptomatic, it is a common diagnosis in gynecology and generate significant health expenditures. Objective: To determine the frequency and clinical-sonographic features of uterine fibroids in patients treated at the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, period 2010- 2014
Methodology: A descriptive, retrospective study. The study group consisted of the medical records of hospitalized patients in the department of gynecology at the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, 2010-2014, the data were analyzed on the basis of Excel 2010 and SPSS 20 data, the results were presented in tables and graphics, for qualitative variables measured absolute and relative frequency was used; and measures of central tendency and dispersion quantitative variables.
Results: 303 cases were obtained, it was observed that the highest number of cases (90.1%) occurred in women who had more than 35 years with a mean of 43.31 years and standard swerved 6.96. The most frequent were the intramural myomas (50.8%); The most common symptom of consultation was the vaginal bleeding (74.6%)
