Resumen
The thesis tries to define the concepts of landscapes and to use them as a fundamental tool for the Planning of a territory.
The tasks, searches and conceptualizations have been built with actions, research and bounding with communities from the Laboratory of Living Landscapes of FADA-PUCE, Quito. They have also been built through the author's experience in the university professorship. They have been obtained with participatory design processes in the communities of La Merced and Cotogchoa, Pichincha, Ecuador from 2014 to the present and supported the processes from the bibliographical information and referents found in publications and treaties.
The objective of the thesis is to support documents, reflections and information that contribute in the participatory planning of territories in urban or rural areas under the proposal of "raising landscapes".
What is relevant in the research is to contribute with valuations, diagnoses and alternatives in territorial planning for the improvement of the quality of life of the Andean inhabitants established in a region characterized by a multiplicity of physical, topographical, climatic, cultural manifestations, and a variety of thoughts.
In the research carried out, the theoretical conceptual and methodological supports of landscapes will establish definitions and attitudes for the treatment of living landscapes. An example is the case of Cotogchoa, rural parish of Canton Rumiñahui, Pichincha, Ecuador.
