Resumen
Fungal infections have become very important over the last few decades. Mycoses caused by yeast infections are the most important infections. The etiological agents of this pathology are numerous, with Candida albicans being the main pathogen of the genus Candida that affects humans. Although pharmacological treatment is available; the epidemiological changes of the candidiasis, the capacity of the antifungal agents and the increase of the resistance to these have created controversies that are directed to the search of new alternatives.
The objective of the present work was to standardize the microdilution technique in plate for the determination of the anti-candida activity of the extracts of both lipophilic and hydrophilic medicinal plants, for which we used 12 plants: Ajo (Allium sativum), Culen (Otholobium pubescens), Congo (Peperomia inaequalifolia), Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), Mint (Mentha piperita), Matico (Piper aduncum), Thyme (Thymus vulgaris), Lechuguilla (Gamochaeta spicata), Black Walnut (Juglans nigra), Rosas (Rosa spp. ), Papaya (Carica Papaya) and Achira (Canna indica); A positive control of proven action (antimycotic); A negative control (solvent) and as pathogenic agent to the microorganism Candida albicans ATCC 90028.
A descriptive statistic was applied to observe and describe the effect of the plants under study when using the test technique and an analytical method to analyze the percentage inhibition of growth of the microorganism in relation to the concentration of antifungal and plant products.
When analyzing the results that relate the variables, it was concluded that the standardization of the technique with the vegetal products was not effective
