Diez arreglos para cuarteto de cuerdas: basado en las transcripciones tomadas del Libro “Música del Pueblo Kichwa” de Phillip Wilhelm

Abstract

This bachelor dissertation presents the culmination of 10 musical arrangements for a string quartet format that are based upon the transcriptions from “Música del Pueblo Kichwa” by Dr. Phillip Wilhelm edited in 2012. Our investigative proposal aims to contribute to the Ecuadorian chamber music repertoire. It also serves to broadcast, so to speak, the indigenous music of this country, little considered with this objective. On the another hand, the changes made in the instrumentation was carefully worked on as to not alter the original musical traits.
