Desarrollo y propuesta de un sistema de manejo de residuos reciclables en la parroquia Molleturo, cantón Cuenca

Abstract

This current study focuses on the development and proposal and of a management system for recyclable waste in the Molleturo parish of the Cuenca canton. The methodology proposed consists of obtaining a housing sample size, sampling how much waste each household produces in 5 days. This sample provided information necessary to calculate the per capita generation of waste. By quartering the collected waste, the data was used to calculate the amount of potentially recyclable material. With the average value of cost per kilogram of recyclable material that is sold in the city, sales revenue was calculated. A storage facility was proposed in the system design.

The CEPIS (Center of Pan American Sanitary Engineering) indicators such as: collection cost, cost classification (proposed), cost of operation and maintenance cost per hour served and personal cost were used to assess the feasibility of the study. AME (Association of Municipalities of Ecuador) indicators: Operating cost and administrative as well as financial costs.

With the data obtained the following calculations were performed using AME and CEPIS indicators were obtained:

CEPIS: • Collection costs = $ 36,85 / (Ton / month); USD range 25-40 USD / (Ton / month). • Cost of operation and maintenance = 0,52; Less than 0,7 • Cost classification = $ 26,82 / (t / m); proposed value.

AME: • Cost per ton collected per month USD / Ton = $ 1,81; Less than 15 USD / Ton.
