Gestational trophoblastic disease, is a gynecological pathology that a multiple factors, the incidence Relate varies between different regions of a global level, being higher in Asia and Latin America than in the developed countries of the West.
Objective: To identify the characteristics of gestational trophoblastic disease in patients in the area of gynecology and obstetrics Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso (HVCM) in the period between January 2010 and January 2015.
Methodology: This was a descriptive study, whose universe consists of the medical records of 35382 patients treated at the gynecology and obstetrics HVCM. The sample was represented by 50 cases presenting gestational trophoblastic disease in the study period. Were collected data on a form previously designed and tested. Tabulation and analysis was performed using the same program Microsoft Excel and SPSS 15.0 software.
Results: 50 cases were identified, of which 30% were found among the 21 to 30 years. Gestational age at diagnosis was between 9 to 13 weeks. 46% was found in the range multiparous. Most patients did not present precedent related conditions.
Conclusions: Gestational trophoblastic disease is a disease that is present in 0.14% of patients treated in the area of gynecology and obstetrics and the conditions HVCM associated different one the child presented a global level.
