Resumen
The present study approaches the academic stress that is generate in the teaching-learning process in the university educational field, where the requirements and demands present in the academic environment, they influence to a greater or lesser extent on the mental and physical health of the student. The objectives were to describe the level of stress in university students of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Cuenca, that realize the Final Work of Degree II, determining the frequency of stressors, the physical, psychological and behavioral reactions, besides the confrontation strategies that student employ. 44 students, 27 women and 17 men with an average age of 25 years, registered in the subject of TFT II belonging to tenth cycle of the curriculum mesh, shaped the population. The study is of a quantitative focus, with a type of non-experimental design and with a reach of study of descriptive. The used instruments for the compilation of the data were the record sociodemographic and the inventory SISCO of academic stress of Barraza (2006). The obtained results based on the proposed objectives demonstrate the presence of a half level of stress in the Faculty Psychology. Regarding the determination of stressors that occur more frequently are: the limited time to do the work and the overload of tasks, with respect to the symptomatology, it was evidenced drowsiness, anxiety and restlessness and finally to the use of coping strategies, the most used are: verbalization and the elaboration of a plan
