This work is aimed at determining the prevalence by age, sex, occupation, education, some associated factors and identify the type of care you have received from those with functional and / or structural deficiencies and disabilities in the parish neuromusclesqueltico brother Miguel, Cuenca, this study is part of a project carried out by the Medical Sciences Faculty of the University of Cuenca, for the benefit of the community. As shown in 148 families were taken, calculated on the basis of what issues the EPI-INFO, it was using a simple random sample. The parish is divided into zones, and each into sectors (by reference to the work done by INEC for the 2001 census). The confidence index is of 95. This research was descriptive and was determined by variables: gender, age, occupation, education and associated factors. The method used was previously developed forms according to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health. In the overall analysis of the sample of 740 people it found 86 cases with functional impairment equivalent to 11.62; 28 cases with structural deficiency equivalent to 3.78y 66 cases with disabilities equivalent to 8.91. The percentage of our research is lower than the percentage found nationally. We have found a can often functional and structural deficiencies between 30 and 50 years of age, and disability occurs between 60-70 years of age. The female is most affected, most frequently associated diseases were hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and osteoporosis, and a high percentage of these patients received professional care
