Resumen
Background: The voice is a work tool that teachers use for much of their days, this over time and bad habits lead to vocal problems. In our environment, voice evaluation is left in the background within occupational health and there is no training for the proper use of it in the teaching staff of all educational levels.
General Objective: Determine the incidence of voice problems in teachers of initial education, zone 6 of education district 01d01. Cuenca, October 2017 - March 2018.
Methodology and Materials: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out in 51 teachers of initial education, in which a questionnaire of personal and work data, vocal habits, VHI (voice handicap index) and subjective GRABS assessment was applied. Subsequently, the data was processed in the SPSS 15. 0 program, which is presented in the relevant tables.
Conclusions: When we relate the rate of vocal disability with the degree of dysphonia, we can see that a large number of teachers with moderate disability have a moderate degree of dysphonia; a p-value of less than 0.005 was also obtained, which indicates that there is a statistical relationship between the rate of vocal disability and the degree of dysphonia.
