Resumen
At present, the management of occupational risk prevention is quite technical, so that it is
possible to identify, measure, eliminate or mitigate occupational hazards and occupational
diseases, however, it has been neglected to change unsafe behaviors to safe behaviors, as well as
transforming the perception that workers have against the prevention of occupational hazards to a
win-win perception between the worker and the organization in such a way that it generates a value
of importance and benefit for both staff and managers of the companies.
This academic essay proposes to use certain tools of Neurolinguistic Programming as a support
in the prevention of occupational hazards, for which four essential points have been estimated in
this essay: the first point is to determine the perception that workers of Ecuadorian SMEs have on
the prevention of occupational hazards using the Occupational Health-Safety Indicator Test (ISL);
the second point is to list the substandard acts that are most repeated in companies; as a third point,
neurolinguistic programming techniques that can help in the management of occupational risk
prevention are mentioned; Finally, in the fourth point some playful methods are presented that are
applied and that have had a great impact on the prevention of occupational hazards in other
countries such as Peru and Spain.
