With current technological advances, have been developed diverse tools for geographical, topographical, morphological, and archaeolo¬gical information that have contributed to the study of urban morphological transformations as well as its documentation and protection for human patrimonial structures.
This study analyzes the use, benefit, and efficiency of some of these tools: digital ‘photo¬grametrics’ done through the use of unmanned air vehicles (UAV’s), conventional digital came¬ras, and LIDAR scanners. Through specialized software we concluded temporary comparative analysis between tridimensional models compo¬sed by clouds of points to identify morphological transformations in one sector of Tomebamba River. The advantage of use in these tools lays in the hyper realism and position to modifica¬te and alter each model. The main challenges are focused on the organization of the compiled data, the compatibility of each format, and the accessibility to these tools and try dimensional models. These last challenges should be priori¬tized in institutions which decide upon the archi¬tecture of the region itself.
