ANTECEDENTS: The psychomotor problems are of constant frequency and great impact for the family and the society, these can be transitory, but also,they can be cause of permanent disability, for that reason the early detection is fundamental. The use of the Preschool Psychomotor Evaluation scale allows us to determine if there is a low, normal or high psychomotor profile which contributes to a later intervention if necessary. OBJECTIVE: Determine the psychomotor profile in children from 3 to 5 years old of the Leoncio Cordero Jaramillo School by means of the Preschool Psychomotor Evaluation scale. METHODOLOGY: The proposed descriptive, prospective study was developed in the Leoncio Cordero Jaramillo School located in the city of Cuenca, in a population of 81 children. The collection procedure was from a primary source through the application of the Preschool Psychomotor Evaluation scale and the data collection form. For its statistical analysis the program SPSS 23.0 was used, for the variables descriptive statistics with frequencies and percentages were used, the data were expressed in tables.RESULTSThe good psychomotor profile was the predominant result in the areas of locomotion with 97.5%; positions 88.9%; balance 88.9%; leg coordination 91.4%; body scheme in other 72.8%; while in the areas of arm coordination with 48.1% and hand coordination with 49.4%; theyobtained their results in the good and normal profiles simultaneously. Only body schema itself has 49.4% in the normal psychomotor profile.
