Resumen
The research entitled "Prevalence of Classical Swine Fever in Canton Paute, Azuay Province, by testing enzyme immunoassay" ELISA "Antibody (Ac) and ELISA antigen (Ag), was developed in the parishes of the Canton Advertise such as response to the presence of outbreaks of classical swine fever in the months of August and September 2012, with the need to determine viral circulation post infection and / or post virus vaccination. To carry out this research were collected and analyzed 151 serum samples from swine population after yard parishes Advertise Canton, the animals were randomly selected. The samples were analyzed at the Veterinary Laboratories Agency of the Ecuadorian Quality Assurance Agro (AGROCALIDAD) in Quito - Tumbaco, using kits ELISA tests Ac and Ag ELISA screening test and as a confirmatory test. Of a total of 151 pigs examined by ELISA Ac for the presence of antibodies to classical swine fever (CSF) in 66 of them equivalent to 43.7% for the presence of antibodies to the CSF virus was detected; and 85 representing 56.3% had no antibodies. It could also be noted that there is no relationship between age and the presence of antibodies in the same way it was concluded that there is a relationship between the location of pigs and the presence of antibodies PPC, denoting an influence on where behavior the presence of antibodies to the CSF virus. After application of the confirmatory ELISA Ag, the 66 cases that were initially positive ELISA Ac, were negative; determined that the antibodies detected are not the result of viral circulation PPC post infection, but the post-vaccine antibodies; also can manifest the clinical cases of disease of the CFP were observed in 2012 in the parish Cape were controlled and has not resubmitted new shoots; probably due to the small pig farmers perform routine immunizations.
