Resumen
The present work seeks to know the level of creative intelligence in students of the Visual Arts career of the University of Cuenca. The research responds to a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional approach with a descriptive scope. The population was 146 students, of whom 80 were men (54.8 %) and 66 were women (45.2 %) between 16 and 38 years old, with an average age of 21 years old. The CREA test of Corbalán (2003) was applied; the results found show that, at a general level, students present a medium level of creative intelligence (M=66.5); in relation to sex, it was found that women (Me=75) have greater creative intelligence than men (Me=70); in terms of age, adolescents (16-19) have greater creative intelligence (M=70.2) than young adults (M=64.2) and middle adults (M=68.1). Finally, it was found that visual arts students generate an average of 10 ideas in four minutes, of which only two ideas are original and on average they visualize four different perspectives on a problem. The influence of individual differences, such as: age, sex and type of high school, on the level of creative intelligence and its factors was verified in the students.
