Resumen
The main objective of the research was to analyzed the radiation dosage, fluoroscopic time in hemodynamic procedures performed at the “Jose Carrasco Arteaga” hospital located in the Cuenca, during the period of January – December 2012.
The retrospective and descriptive methodology was used. The research was performed in a total of 300 patients’ records that were treated in the hemodynamic department. It was determined that 93% of the patients received a radiation dosage lower than 1mSv and only 7% was greater than 1mSv.
The most frequent hemodynamic procedure was the Coronariography with 31% and the combined Coronariography / angioplasty with stent corresponded to 8%.
The largest time range for fluoroscopy was 1-20 minutes with 91% of the patients. The 2% of the range corresponded to 40-60 minutes, meanwhile 57% of the patients it was found a range of 1-20 minutes. Only 4% of the range was greater than 80 minutes.
It was found that most patients treated was in an age range of 61 to 80 years old (at 51%), whereas only 5% corresponded to a range greater than 80 years old.
The most frequency of patients treated belongs to males with 65%.
