Based on a deep analysis, supported by research techniques and methods and technological instruments; this research supports the cultural and potential that the Cañari ethnic group of Cuchucún community preserves. It also emphasizes textile manufacturing, as well as the characteristics of their instruments, tools, techniques, processes for the preparation of their traditional dresses. Another fact is the knowledge, linked to the clothing characteristic beliefs and the contribution of natural elements used in the manufacture of their garments.
With the need of generating strategic measures whose purpose is to rescue, revalue, preserve the identity, as well as their customs and ancestral techniques that have been influenced by globalization and supplanted by foreign customs, proposals arise for linking tourism to take advantage of the potential of cultural and natural environment of the sector, which are raised through definite strategies, based on the bibliographical and field research, quantification and qualification of all resources found and the conceptual, social-economic analysis.
Cuchucún provides opportunities for the development of cultural tourism that allows, at the same time the community to gain knowledge and cultural values and assets, with the textile work linked to tourism, it aims to create opportunities, employment sources to improve quality of life for families to strengthen the social, economic and cultural development of the community with sustainable principles, creating thus competitive offers. Finally, priority is given to agreements to improve the competitiveness of the possible actors in the exercise of this proposal.
