Background: Female sexual dysfunction (FSD) includes multiple common disorders present in one in three women, why knowledge of the physiology of the female sexual response and alterations necessary.
Objective: To determine the prevalence of female sexual dysfunction and associated factors.
Methods: Cross-sectional study in 303 patients who were interviewed at the offices of the gynecology service Carrasco José Arteaga Hospital during the period January to July 2013.
Results: Prevalence of Female Sexual Dysfunction according to the Index of Female Sexual Dysfunction Rossen et al. it was 60.4% in the clinical forms of female sexual dysfunction, pain with intercourse was 60.7%, followed by the change in desire and arousal with 60.1% each , lubrication and anorgasmia in 51.4% each and finally sexual dissatisfaction was presented in 41.0% , as risk factors in order of importance; primary education (OR ) of 7.04 (IC 95%:2.21-22.27 ) with a p-value of 0.000, the age between 41-60 years (OR) of 5.72 (IC 95%:3.37-9.70) with a p-value of 0.000, nerve disorders (OR) of 2.70 (IC 95%:1.44-5.04 ) with a p-value of 0.002, the organic diseases (OR) of 2.35 (IC 95%:1.44-3.82 ) with a p-value of 0.001, previous pelvic surgery (OR ) of 2.26 (IC 95%:1.31-3 .90) with a p-value of 0.003, the violence (OR ) of 1.95 (IC 95%:1.03-3.70) and a p-value of 0.047
