Resumen
Throughout history there have been different ways of seeing and understanding the historical city, but the heritage is not only what is perceived from the architectural point of view, but also under what circumstances it has created and has evolved as in the course of the years.
That is why UNESCO study Historical Urban Landscapes (PUH), covering all aspects related to the evolution of the heritage cities, with all the aspects involved its development has been necessary.
Each city is established in a specific place for the features it possesses, and are all considered to establish a place of settlement: the topography, hydrology, geomorphology, climate, space and security in the area for development. There are also human aspects that have to do with the cultural, social and economic development, enabling the evolution of cities according to their needs in every era of history.
That is why it was decided to make a study of the PUH of a traditional neighborhood of the city of Cuenca according to the most outstanding features and their level of interest, it took into consideration that the most applicable for this study is "El Vado" which it is a neighborhood with a great historical and cultural richness that has to be analyzed and preserved by their historical value tradition, cultural and religious activities; and especially for its architecture.
