Resumen
The vertical plant systems are an innovative construction technique for architectural integration of vegetation in buildings and urban environment. The growing concern for the problems affecting the environment, have led to greater interest in a responsible architecture as there are advantages to introducing vegetation on the surfaces of buildings, facing in practice a number of problems for implementation, which become the subject of study.
The aim of this paper is to analyze the benefits that vertical systems offer the buildings and the urban environment in general, the functional aspects and effects of the integration of vegetation in the projects studied, will evidence advantages and disadvantages of their use in the different casesanalyzed. Furthermore the design of 3 panel prototypes, built and used for laboratory testing and analysis results show quantifiable consequences of using panels with vegetation and their relevance or not of their application in each proposed systems.
The vegetation in the history of architecture and its integration in different periods; has allowed the development of new vegetation vertical systems like these ones. The conservation of several buildings validates the techniques that integrate vegetation not only aesthetically but functionally meaning that this is an innovative theme, developing multidisciplinary and a wide field of research.
