Background: Since ancient times, parasitosis has been a problem that encompasses the underdevelopment of the world population, it is estimated that two million people are carriers of parasites worldwide, affecting regardless of race, age, sex and social status, prevailing in characters with scarce economic resources.
Objective: To determine the prevalence of Enteroparasitosis and risk factors in schoolchildren from 6 to 12 years of the "Chiquintad Educational Unit", 2017.
Methodology: The present investigation was of a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional type, because it allowed us to determine the prevalence of enteroparasitosis; It was made with a universe of 82 children as those who underwent coproparasitic exams. The technique used was the interview and the instrument was used to create the authors: the data processed using Microsoft, Excel, SPSS and the presentation of the results of the information obtained by statistical percentages with their respective analyzes.
Results: With the results of the coproparasitic tests it was determined that the parasite with the highest prevalence at the age of 6 and 12 years was the Chilomastix Mesnili with 8.5%. Followed by Ameba Coli Cyst with 4.9%. And as for the main risk factor that was registered was that schoolchildren consume food outside the home, without taking into account the paramount that results from the consumption of food in good condition, hygiene and adequate session.
Conclusions: In this study it was not possible to show a high prevalence of Enteroparasitosis; however, the most frequent parasitic parasite found in children was the Chilomastix Mesnili with a percentage of 8.5%. The consumption of food outside the home is acting as the main risk factor in enteroparasitosis in the "Chiquintad Educational Unit".
